Savannah Christian Academy’s Mission Programs
At Savannah Christian Academy, everything is acknowledged as a gift from God. All of our needs are known by Him and are provided through Him. With that understanding, it is the position of SCA to share our portion of God’s blessings with others, so that we can be an active part of a much larger, and growing, body of Christ.
It is the practice of SCA to tithe 10% of all money acquired through fundraisers to missions. While contributions may be made to several mission organizations, the one most widely supported through tithing is Servant Group International. Through this organization, SCA sponsors two students who attend the Classical School of the Medes. These students are Iraqi children who, apart from the Biblical teachings at this school, would not know about Jesus Christ. To date, SCA has invested over $3,000.00 into the ministry of Servant Group International.
Another way that SCA raises money for missions is through monthly Mission Meals. This practice stemmed from a missionary’s challenge to skip a happy meal once a month and put that money back for missions. With that suggestion, the idea came to “brown bag a school lunch once a month and donate the cost of a school lunch ($2.00) to missions. This has been a very successful endeavor. The money that is accumulated through Mission Meals is used to support the Blessed Children’s Orphanage in India. To date, SCA has sent over $2,000.00 to this orphanage through the services provided by Christian Light Foundation.
How blessed we are and how wonderful it is to be a part of God’s blessing to others! It is our prayer that the students of Savannah Christian Academy will learn as much about stewardship as they do about reading, writing, and arithmetic! May God continue to pour out His blessings upon us as we strive to be good stewards with the many resources He supplies!
To God be the glory, great things He has done…and still desires to do!
