Kindergarten- drew and colored a self-portrait using markers. We discussed general rules for drawing faces. We also decorated our names on a piece of card board with markers. These are on display in the cafeteria.
We made an abstract inspired by Wassily Kandinsky. Look in the cafeteria to see their art.
First Grade- used Wassily Kandinsky as our inspiration again to draw our version of a study of circles using sharpies on aluminum foil. They are on display in the resource room in modular #3 and in the cafeteria. Please stop by and see the exhibit. (A few students have not finished their pictures. As soon as I receive them, they will be put up.)
Third Grade- drew a self portrait using markers in the style of Amedeo Modigliani. Modigliani was famous for his elongated and elegant portraits, painted in Paris back in the early 1900′s. They turned out great!
Fourth Grade- made an abstract design using patterns and lines on heavy paper using sharpies. We are still working on this project. It has taken some time but they are turning out really well.
6th-8th Grade (Activity Period)- Are learning about the seven elements of art: Line, Shape, Color, Value, Form, Texture, and Space. We focused on line and drew a landscape picture using contour lines. We will be working on our contour drawing for one to two more weeks.
