Mrs. Vicki Gallik
Week of November 24-26
Bible Verse: This week we will review the previous Bible verses. We will not have a memory verse to recite.
We review the verse every day and our lessons follow the verse. Have your child review the verse with you daily for practice.
Reading- We will spend this week reading Thanksgiving stories. There will not be a vocabulary test We are continuing to work on dictionary skills. If you have a dictionary, please send it with your child to school. It will really help. we will have vocabulary tests each week over these vocabulary words.
We have weekly oral reading tests. They are based on comprehension, enunciation, and fluency. Please read with your child and help him/ her become a better reader.
Spelling- We will have a spelling review of the past lessons. We will have a spelling bee.
Cursive- Cursive is integrated with the other subjects and there is also a cursive workbook that we use. Please encourage your child to write in cursive .
Math- We are working on multiplication and multiplication and more multiplication. Did I mention multiplication?
Language- We are practicing punctuation . We are also starting to write paragraphs. We are learning the descriptive paragraph first.
Science- . We are beginning unit 4: forces and motion. This is a fun and exciting unit. Yea!!!!!

Math : Some are having trouble learning the multiplication facts. I wish there was a way around this, however there is not. They must know the facts by heart in order to be successful in math. I know how busy you are, but I thank you for working with your children nightly.
This Wednesday we will be celebrating our latest compliment party. You may bring a pillow and blanket. I will furnish breakfast but you are welcome to send in a treat if you wish. Remember, it is only a half day! I am proud of you.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!I I am thankful for each of you and hope you enjoy time with your family and friends. I Thank God for each of you.
