SCA will not have classes on Wednesday, May 6th, due to stormy weather. Classes should resume on Thursday, May 7th.
Thursday is the National Day of Prayer and parents are still needed to help transport students to the courthouse and to areas within the community for a time of prayer. If you haven’t already signed up for this, please contact the school office (926-1504) and leave a message indicating your availability and the number of students you can transport. Student will also need to bring lunch money to eat lunch in town between their prayer times.
SCA recently held its second annual Art Exhibition. Students entered various art projects that were made during the school year. These works of art were placed on display at the Hardin County Library. Judging was conducted by the Savannah Art Guild. The judges selected their choice of first, second, and third place winners from within each category; three overall winners were also seleted. First place went to John Mark Wolfe, second place went to Morgan Mathis, and third place went to Jarrett Martin. The event was planned and organized by Mrs. Vickie Bonawitz, SCA’s art teacher.
SCA students have been representing their school well through the ACSI student activities. SCA had 18 students take part in the spelling bee (photo on left) and 34 students enjoy the art festival (photo on right). Below are some pictures of both groups of students.
At the Art Festival, Caroline Vinson received “Best of Show” for her artwork.
Shelbie Pickens placed 4th among all first graders participating in the spelling bee.
Here is a view of what took place at this year’s ACSI Art Festival hosted by Shoals Christian School in Florence, AL.
