2017 Math Olympics

The  ACSI Math Olympics took place on Friday, April 7th, at Evangelical Christian School in Cordova, TN. SCA had many contestants who competed and placed! Way to go students!! This is an honor and a privilege to participate in these competitions.

5th and 6th Graders Research Greek Mythology

SCA’s 5th and 6th grades studied the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology to explore different genres in literature! These gods have nothing on the ONE TRUE GOD!!

Kindergarten is 100 days smarter!!!

SCA kindergarten class is “100 days smarter.” The SCA kindergarten class celebrated 100 days at school today in Mrs. Sherry’s class.  

KIDS Preschoolers Went on an Adventure!

KIDS older preschool classes recently visited Doctor Benson Parris for National Children’s Dental Health month. What an adventure for these kiddos!

What’s the MATTER in 2nd Grade?

SCA second graders took science to the cafeteria. They have been studying matter and how matter changes. The benefits of this lesson ….. eating the sherbet that was made during the lesson. Thank you, Mrs. Nan, for helping with the matter!

Students Encouraged to Read for AR points

SCA students are participating in the Accelerated Reading Program each quarter. Every student reads to attain points based on grade level requirements. Dairy Queen has come alongside SCA by rewarding the students for their reading efforts by giving different ice cream treats for the goals achieved!!! Thank you, Dairy Queen!!

1st-4th District Spelling Bee 2017

4th Graders Represent SCA in 4-H by Giving Speeches!

Jackson Franks and Kolby McCasland represented SCA in the local 4-H speech competition. Jackson Franks won first place for fourth grade, and Kolby McCasland received second place! Jackson went on to the regional competition and won fourth place! We are so proud of these two for their public speaking abilities!!

7th-8th Grade Tennessee Projects

Check out the creativity of SCA’s 7th-8th graders! They built replicas of a few of Tennessee’s tourists sites during their study of Tennessee history.

3rd Grade Science Exploration

The third grade class explored outer space! Check out their version of the planets! They are out of this world!!!    

1st Grade explores other countries!

Mrs. Lauren’s first graders have been researching other countries. Check out their explorations! SCA first graders are displaying their writing skills in the hallway at SCA. Each child researched information on a country and colored a picture of the country’s flag. Stop by and learn more from their hard efforts. Way to go, first graders!!

ACSI Math Olympics

Congratulations to seventh graders Steven Cagle and Aaron Jones for their performance at the Math Olympics in Memphis. Aaron Jones finished first in reasoning and Steven Cagle finished fourth in computation. There were 232 participants involved in the event. We had a total of 27 students the competed in the third through the eighth grade.
